Encouraged by his father, Dubonnet developed a passion for sport at a very young age. A renowned aviator, he beat several records, including a flight on 3 April 1910, when he took off from Juvisy, a small town a few kilometres from Paris, to travel one hundred and nine kilometres and to land one hour and fifty minutes later in La Ferté Saint-Aubin, establishing the very first record of a direct flight of over 100km in less than two hours!
